Now we will fit the electrodes that go behind the participant's ears. So, take another two of the gold-cup electrodes provided and prepare them with the paste and tape in the same manner as the last few.
Now, stick the cup of one of the electrodes down directly in the middle of the prepared area on the 'bone bump' behind the participant's right ear.
If the gold cup is positioned too low beneath the boney area, the heartbeat in the fleshy part of the neck may cause interference.
Position the electrode/tape so that the wire runs down the side of the neck. Then, similar to the right chin wire, this wire should run across the back of the shoulders/neck and down the left side of the chest.
Insert this electrode into the M2 port of the headbox (the grey, leftmost input from the front right). It is important that these inputs are not confused, so if in doubt, use the lines on the headbox diagram to guide you.
Repeat with the participant's left ear and insert the electrode into the M1 port (the grey, rightmost input on the headbox). In this case the wire can simply run down towards the headbox
