Now we will fit the electrode that goes behind the participant’s right ear. So, take another of the gold-cup electrodes provided and prepare it with the paste and tape in the same manner as the last few.

Now, stick the cup of the electrode down directly in the middle of the prepared area on the ‘bone bump’ behind the participant’s right ear.

If the gold cup is positioned too low beneath the boney area, the heartbeat in the fleshy part of the neck may cause interference.

Position the electrode/tape so that the wire runs down the side of the neck. Then, similar to the right chin wire, this wire should run across the back of the shoulders/neck and down the left side of the chest.

Insert this electrode into the A2 port of the headbox (3rd in from the front left).
